The event saw the participation of digital startups, digital service providers, entrepreneurs, merchants, and the general public coming together for the occasion.
Mr Angkura expressed that Ratchaburi Province has established a strong partnership with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency, aligning their efforts to jointly foster the growth of the digital economy and facilitate the evolution of smart cities across various dimensions, including human resources, economy, society, and the digital ecosystem.
This collaborative endeavour aims to empower the population in Ratchaburi, enabling them to comprehend and access technology that can significantly enhance their professional pursuits. In turn, it catalyses the economic advancement of the province.
In the context of the “Transforming Fresh Markets in the New Normal Era” project, this collaboration holds the potential to be a significant enabler for small entrepreneurs within Ratchaburi. It equips them with the knowledge and grasp of digital technology and nurtures their ability to transform their businesses into lucrative trading ventures. Integrating digital technology opens doors to diversified opportunities, from enhanced sales to innovative service offerings in the digital landscape.
The anticipation is that the digital technology exhibition activities will be instrumental in benefiting entrepreneurs and contributing to the overall economic upliftment of Ratchaburi. It is believed that this concerted effort will not only lead to prosperity but also ensure the sustained growth and affluence of the province.
Dr Preesarn elaborated on the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) ‘s ongoing efforts in advancing the “Transforming Fresh Market in the New Normal Era” project. This initiative has been extended for the second consecutive year, with a primary objective of fostering and supporting market proprietors, micro, small and medium enterprises, vendors, and hawkers. This extension intends to empower these entities to harness technology and digital innovations effectively, thereby amplifying their operational efficiency.
Furthermore, this project extension aspires to enable these stakeholders to evolve into new forms of competition well-suited to the digital age’s demands. The endeavour seeks to usher them into a realm where technological solutions are pivotal in enhancing their competitiveness.
“In light of the development of technology, we should be adaptive to maintain the competition and demands in the digital age,” stressed Mr Angkura.
This initiative’s activities centred around the display and demonstration of digital technology, hold substantial importance in the broader landscape of market management. They are anticipated to serve as catalysts for improving market operations. Notably, these activities are expected to facilitate and accelerate the development of a digital prototype market within the precincts of Ratchaburi province.
“This prototype market will symbolise the convergence of traditional market dynamics with modern digital technology, thereby fostering a new realm of market management that aligns seamlessly with the digital era,” explained Mr Angkura.
